1.be confident of 大意为：对做什么事情有信心/确信干什么事
例句：

美国总统任期满了以后可以做副总统吗
理论是可以的，对于任期达到两届的总统卸任后可否继续担任公职？美国宪法并没有予以禁止，理论上是可以出任副总统的，但是历任美国总统在卸任后几乎都不再出任任何政府职务，不过确实有副总统卸任后继续参选总统的案例，而奥巴马时代的副总统拜登就表示希望参加2020年美国总统大选
自大美国建国之后，美国总统的任期就只有两届，这是开国总统华盛顿定下来的规矩，但是这个规矩仅仅是个惯例，在1951年之前没有哪条法律限制总统的任期。
1933年美国民主党人罗斯福击败共和党人胡弗，当选美国第32任总统。罗斯福在上台时正逢全球金融危机，以及第二次世界大战，为此罗斯福打破惯例，连任四届美国总统。
1945年4月12日，罗斯福在他第四个任期即将结束时，于佐治亚州的温泉因突发脑溢血去世，他病逝后副总统杜鲁门继任总统一职。
罗斯福去世后，同为民主党的杜鲁门在继任总统一职后又成功正式当选总统一职，并在1949年继续获得大选胜利得以连任，如此一来民主党把持美国总统一职长达24年之久，美国共和党直接坐不住了。
为了防止出现第二个罗斯福，共和党极力推动修宪，试图将总统任期不超过两届的传统以法律的形式确立下来。

不过，对于总统卸任之后是否可以继续出任其他公职，例如担任美国副总统，美国宪法并没有予以禁止。也就是说在理论上，美国总统在卸任之后可以继续参与政治，甚至可以担任副总统一职。
但是历届美国总统卸任之后都不再担任任何公职，这些前任总统在离任后大多开始写书、出书，四处演讲，到处捞金，基本上已经不再过问政事。至于去当副总统，对他们而言简直就是羞辱。（奥巴马卸任后四处捞金，忙得不亦乐乎）
要知道总统可是一国元首，这个职务在美国政坛是至高无上的，担任总统美国所有政客的终极梦想，在总统宝座上坐过的人不愿在再屈尊担任其他职务的，哪怕是副总统也不愿意。而且美国政坛也不能接受这种行为，这无形中降低了总统的威严。
当然，有些总统在卸任后还是会受政府之邀，代替政府出席一些非正式的外交活动。例如美国前总统克林顿在卸任后就曾受政府支托，访问北朝。（克林顿在卸任后的主要工作就是支持希拉里参选美国总统）
虽然美国总统在卸任之后不会再去担任副总统，但却有许多副总统在卸任后去竞选总统。
在美国历史，至今共有9位副总统因为总统遇刺或遭弹劾等因素，在任内继任总统一职。除了这9位副总统以外，还有很多副总统在卸任后重新参加总统大选并获得胜利，例如美国第37任总统尼克松，他在当选总统之前就曾经在艾森豪威尔时期担任过副总统一职。
由艾森豪威尔只当了一届总统，所以尼克松也只是当了一届副总统。在卸任之后，他于1960年和1964年两度竞选总统，但都遭到失败。直到1968年他再次参加总统竞选获胜，并在1972年谋求连任获得成功。

美国副总统是随着总统的不同而不同。
一般认为没什么权力，但是在少数政府下，美国副总统的权力还是很大的。

根据美国宪法，美国副总统是美国联邦行政第二高的官员，仅次于美国总统，且在美国总统继位顺序中拍灭第一，而且以参议院议长的身份参与联邦立法机关工作，副总统也以这个身份主持参议院相关会议，但是副总统一般不投票，除非票数是50:50的时候，副总统才有一票打破平衡的能力。
但是这种情况极其少见。
副总统以参议院议长的身份，可以主持大多数的联邦弹劾审判，但是不能主持总统弹劾审判，总统弹劾是美国首席大法官主持。
副总统还以参议院议长的身份主持机票和介绍选举团的工作。
副总统最重要的职能，还是在总统死亡，或者总统无力承担职责的时候，代理行使美国总统的职权，这在美国历史上倒是不新鲜，罗斯福总统去世以后，就是由其副总统代为行使职权的，美国历任总统被暗杀后，都是副总统代为行使职权。
同时总统还可以赋予副总统的一些职能，副总统也可以成为行政部门政策的起草人和发言人，总统顾问，以及作为美国的象征出席一些外交场合。

回答里说翻译问题的都是错的，背后是有故事的。
首先这个跟翻译什么的扯不上边，不要硬掰了，卡普空发行的日版生化危机原名本来就叫Biohazard，翻译过来就是生化危机，游戏内容也很贴合，但是游戏引入欧洲以后发现被注册了(好像是个乐队？不记得了)，版权也谈过但是谈不下来，没办法只好改名字，也就是现在看到的resident evil。国内翻译当然选择本名来翻译了，就是这么一回事。
英语句中同一个单词怎么辨别是形容、动词、副词
这是个有必要回答的问题。因为有人主张背单词时，把词性也背了。这样做就会增加很大的记忆负担。所以，为了减轻广大学子们的学习压力和记忆负担，我就回答一下这个问题。
如何辨别一个词的词性呢？一般的方法就是看词尾。比如。以-ence，-ance结尾的词一般都是名词, 如，difference, distance。 以-ent, -ant结尾的都是形容词。如，different, distant。再比如，以-ly结尾的词多数都是副词。比如，nearly, naturally 等。但有些以-ly结尾的词，不是副词，而是形容词，比如lovely, friendly。而且有些词的同一种形式，既可以是形容词，也可以是副词。比如，hard。I work hard. 我努力工作，I like hard work. 我喜欢艰苦的工作。
那么，这时我们应该怎样辨别一个词的词性呢？这就要靠句法结构来判断了。正如夸克等人编写的《英语语法大全中》所说的那样：Since English often lacks formal indicators of word class, we often identify words by their function rather than their form.因为英语缺乏正式词性标示，我们只能通过词的作用，而不是形式开判断一个词的词性。
的确，英语不像俄语，有明确的词性标示，一看词尾就知道词性。英语只有一部分词能够通过词尾来判断词性，更多的词做不到。那么我们只能通过一个词在句子中起的作用来判断词性。
怎么判断呢？记住，英文的句子成分主要分两大类，一类是被修饰性成分，一类是修饰性成分。被修饰性成分有主语，谓语，宾语和表语。修饰性成分主要就是定语和状语。定语用来修饰名词的。状语用来修饰动词，形容词，副词或整个句子。那么，句子成分和词性又有什么关系呢。请看下图。
这是英语语法最核心的东西。掌握了它，理解句子就没有问题了。通过它，我们可以反推出一个词的词性。
名词和动词之间的关系是双箭头，意思是说，名词可以是动作的发出者，也可以是动作的接受者。这就意味着名词可以作主语，也可以作宾语。那么动词呢。动词主要用来做谓语，当然，作谓语时叫做限定动词短语。
那么形容词的作用是什么呢？是定语，用来修饰名词。有些人说形容词是修饰主语和宾语的。尽管这样说不能算错，但不够严密。因为有些主语不是名词，而是非限定动词短语。形容词无法修饰它，所以，最严蜜的解释就是形容词修饰名词。有名词的地方，就都可以有形容词。
那副词呢？副词是用来修饰动词，形容词，其他副词或整个句子。
下面我就用一个词来说明一下，怎样根据句法作用来判断一个词的词形，我用单词like 为例。
1，I like seeing films.
我喜欢看电影
2，An individual human existence should be like a river.
个人的生活应该像一条河。
3，Their humbler followers, such as partridges, have a like power of strong propulsion.
他们较低级的跟随者，像鹧鸪，有类似的强大推动力
4，Do it like I tell you.
按照我告诉你地做。
在以上四个句子里，单词 like 的词形没有任何变化。但却是不同的四个词性。第一句话like作谓语，是动词。表示主语的行为动作。第二句里，like是介词，意思是像......，和后面的名词一起构成介词短语，作状语。第三个是形容词，意思是类似的，相像的，作定语，修饰power。第四个是连词，连接两个句子，不做成分。
其它的词类还有数词，介词，连词，感叹词，和冠词。其中数词可以做定语，状语，主语和宾语，也是实词，但数词很好认。介词不能单独做成分，必须和名词或代词或者还相当于名词或代词的词在一起，构成介词短语，才能做句子成分。一般介词短语主要做定语，状语和表语，以及宾语补足语。从来不能做主语，谓语和宾语。连词不做成分。感叹词也不做成分，可以忽略不计。冠词也不能单独做成分，总是和名词在一起用，而且，英语只有两个冠词，不可能记不住它们的词性。
